Great quote, Jason. This saying reminds me of Joshua Harris' message on laying down everything to follow Christ, which he preached the last day of the men’s retreat, The Quest.

Say, where did you find the quote?

I remember you saying a great while back that you were reading Bonhoeffer's Cost of Discipleship. In what ways has Bonhoeffer's book specifically impacted you're life?

Your fellow enlisted comrade,
Josiah

I subscribe to Charles Colson's BreakPoint commentary via e-mail. It's free(!) and always a good read. I lifted this quote from his 2/23/07 commentary. Thus I had no book to cite (which I try to do whenever possible).

The Cost of Discipleship is a good book. It's somewhat lengthy, and quite deep, so it took a while to finish, but I would recommend reading at least the first section (about five chapters). He had a lot of good insights throughout the book, but what has stuck with me the most were some of his words on in this particular section, where he addressed the issues of grace, belief, and obedience. It would take considerable time and space to talk about the book in-depth here, so maybe I'll have to review it when I finally get around to starting book reviews on my blog.
