Render to Caesar What Is Caesar's

Hear the words "April 15th" mentioned and you probably think taxes. For me, thinking of taxes caused me to remember something I recently heard Ravi Zacharias say regarding the passage where the Pharisees and Herodians asked Jesus whether it was lawful to pay taxes to Caesar. You remember, I'm sure, what followed. After they brought Jesus a denarius, "he said to them, 'Whose likeness and inscription is this?' They said to him, 'Caesar's.' Jesus said to them, 'Render to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's. And they marveled at him" (Mark 12:16-17).

They marveled at Him. Mr. Zacharias pointed out, however, that they failed to ask Jesus the follow-up question: what is God's? The answer, of course, is the same as the answer to this question: what is made in the likeness of God?
